It's difficult for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the record chasers, are what's still available for a squad that has won it all.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

Some will argue the case for final game tension. Others can counter with the test that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it's been a disappointing period because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit kick in and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was on her way.

"An opportunity to take the field and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

Once she was dismissed the team needed 66 more at run per delivery - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

In recent days a sense they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at an important competition.
